Hewro! No sooner have me fixed me PC with a shinieds new PSU I have another pwoblemd !! An evild meanie has moved in to my student house and is using the house wireless connection to access my Router. Now, it is a selling point of the house that there is an internet connection - a bill which is in my names, and which I pays for. I wouldnt normally mind, and I am sure theyll pay part of the bill if me asks them too, but in this case me ids annoyed! hes hogging bandwidth bigtimeds I can switch off the wireless on the router, but he constantly switched it off and on thinking the router needs a reset. it VEWY annoying if I am mid battle!! So, is there any SOFTWARE that allows me to allocate bandwidth to a PC, or do I HAVE to setup a gateway PC for the network? This is a pain as Ill have to builds it and I not got all the parts for a second PC yet.

Upgrade the firmware for your router from the LinkSys website, it should give you some QoS options which will allow you to send and recieve X amounts from certain PC/Laptops etc ... failing that you can try with dd-wrt or make your own server DD-WRT www.linksysinfo.org/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&p=36432should get some info from that ... that or you could get on his laptop without him knowing and change the link speed on his wireless device to say a max of 10 mb network speed, will filter to his laptop at like 56k speed and leave the rest for yourself ;DUY
